In celebration of St. Martin’s Day, two days before the start of the 40-day fast, we invite you to join us for a truly special autumn event. Whether you’re looking for a family day out or a gathering with friends, you can enjoy an unforgettable and carefree day at the Göcsej Skanzen.
This year, the Open-Air Museum is also participating in the nationwide Autumn Festival of Museums, during which we are organizing a thematic professional program: with the support of our professional partners and collaborators, we will revive the community-building experience of traditional family pig slaughters.
In addition to this, we have prepared a variety of exciting programs to ensure that every family member enjoys a lasting experience!

10:00 – 16:00 – Chamber exhibition from the collections of Imre Szentmihályi, at the reception building of the Göcsej Skanzen
11:00 – 12:00 – In the Footsteps of St. Martin – story tour
13:00 – 14:30 – Tarsoly Folk Theatre: The Cloak That Reached the Sky
The marvelous story of St. Martin – an interactive puppet show for all generations, accompanied by folk instruments, featuring lots of games, music, and dancing
14:30 – 16:00 – The Göcsej Heart Man
Community experiences and insights – a professional workshop evoking the atmosphere of traditional Göcsej pig slaughtering
