The Western Transdanubian regional exhibition of the 18th Living Folk Art – National Folk Art Exhibition presents the latest creations of traditional folk craftsmanship and folk art at the Mindszentyneum.
The 18th Living Folk Art – National Folk Art Exhibition
is a prestigious exhibition held every five years by the House of Traditions and the Association of Hungarian Folk Art Associations. It serves as a meeting point for the preservation of tradition and contemporary renewal.
At the Mindszentyneum, the Western Transdanubian regional exhibition showcases works that faithfully preserve the values of Hungarian folk culture while presenting them in a contemporary form that speaks to today’s audience. Created by the region’s most outstanding artisans, the exhibited pieces offer an insight into the rich diversity of Hungarian folk applied arts. They also compete for the opportunity to be selected for the national exhibition held at the Museum of Ethnography following the regional selection process.
This temporary exhibition, organised by the Folk Art Association of Zala County, is open at the Mindszentyneum until 23 August 2026.
