Artifact Preservation in Museums
One of the fundamental responsibilities of museums is the proper preservation and conservation of collections that form part of cultural heritage. From the perspective of artifact preservation, it is also essential to ensure that light exposure is regulated appropriately for the artifacts that are carefully safeguarded and displayed.
This year, the Museum Preservation Committee announced a grant program aimed at municipal museums with county-level responsibilities to support responsible artifact conservation. As a result, exhibition spaces and storage areas will preserve artifacts in compliance with the prescribed standards.
Successful Artifact Preservation Grants
Keszthely, Nagykanizsa, and Kehidakustány also submitted successful applications, and light-filtering film installation will take place in the following institutions: 21 m² at the Balaton Museum in Keszthely, 54.5 m² at the Thúry György Museum in Nagykanizsa, and 8 m² at the Deák Mansion in Kehidakustány.
The work will commence soon.
